James L. Chase

James L. Chase is the founder and President of Chase & Ralls, PLC, a law firm based in Pensacola, Florida. He brings a rare combination of legal, financial, and academic credentials to his practice, beginning with high honors from the University of Florida Business School in 1976, followed by his CPA designation in 1979. That same year, he earned his law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and later obtained an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.

For more than three decades, Mr. Chase has provided sophisticated counsel in family law, tax law, probate, business law, and estate planning. His practice includes extensive representation before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Tax Court, and federal courts in matters involving complex tax disputes, audits, criminal tax investigations, and high-stakes collection and bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Chase is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law and is a former Associate Professor of Finance and Economics at the University of West Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar and the Escambia/Santa Rosa Bar Association.
